After work listening

Nothing better than getting home and spinning vinyl 'til the early hours of the morning.

Real Word Record Stores (UK)

Being an avid listener to Vinyl, I've had many good experiences with real world shops online, and also private sellers from Discogs. Perhaps those looking to get into Vinyl would like some insight and a little direction in where to buy from, or those who are also avid listeners would like to share their experiences also.

1. Chemical-Records UK

I've spent about 100gbp a week with these blokes plus shipping for about 2 months. They have a huge selection, with what I think a great user interface to suit, making it fairly easy to browse, however the search functions could have a few improvements made. Order processing is very prompt, and shipping is generally same day unless you buy records that are labelled "Friday Shipping", in which they will ship your full order on the following Friday. Shipping times are very fast, 5-6 business days to Australia, for obvious reasons I can't comment on shipping locally, but I'm sure it's a hell of a lot faster and just as prompt. I'm unable to comment on customer service as I've never had a problem.

If you're looking for a great range of records, with prompt service, and great pricing (compared to local in Aus) then these are the guys for you.

2. Redeye Records UK

I havn't had nearly as much buying experience with these guys, purely because I prefer the CR UK website over this one, a little easier to browse stock, but that's my opinion. When I have bought form these blokes, it's the same deal, very prompt service, great pricing, and shipping costs are also the same bar the fact they charge extra  (40gbp cents mind you) for card stiffeners.

I think the difference in these 2 stores is the website, and deciding which one to purchase from is down to which interface you prefer.

I'm fairly new to buying from the UK in terms of Vinyl, so if there is any other great shops like these 2, please let me know via the comments and I'll check them out.
